Both green tea or black tea, if drunk regularly, useful to prevent the accumulation of plaque in arteries. Along with fat and cholesterol, plaque is a major cause of heart attacks and strokes.
Research conducted by experts from Australia says the biggest benefits of tea come from the content of flavonoids, an antioxidant that is effective against cardiovascular disease. In a cup of tea there are 150-2000 mg of flavonoids.
To get enough antioxidants, two cups of tea equal to five servings of vegetables or two apples. Research published in the Journal of Molecular Science Colleges of Medicine also says the content of flavonoids in black tea is not much different from green tea.
"The results of this research has consistently shown flavonoids in tea to increase nitric oxide status and improve endothelial function is very useful for heart health," said Dr.J onathan Hodgson, a researcher.
Results of a randomized study conducted also showed that consumption of tea made in the lining of blood vessels better. Not only that tea also reduces the risk of hypertension and low blood pressure.
